Nexperia created a nomenclature for all protection diodes. This starts with the product family PESD, PRTR or PTVS. It is then followed by the reverse stand-off voltage, a designator for the capacitance class or, in the case of the PTVS family, the power class, the number of protected lines, and a U or B for unidirectional or bidirectional protection. The final letter is the package designator. With the help of this nomenclature, all products can easily be identified and naming confusion can be avoided.
