Shown on this slide is a typical automotive radar, with the requirement to run in the system network in the automotive space. As has been mentioned, CAN is prevalent in the automotive market space. Other requirements are an external memory interface for the high speed memory enabling black box type functionality, and sophisticated ADCs. This diagram shows the ADCs as external. There are ADCs built into the device, therefore depending on what type of resolution is required, the system can work with an external device or with the internal ADCs. Another requirement is the advanced PWM outputs which can drive the radar transmission system and, depending on how many channels of PWM it requires, there is still the ability to run the power conversion stage. Radar systems can require voltages of up to 48 or 50 V. This can be done in the power stages in these devices. The Concerto solution brings everything under the hood of one device and minimizes board space required.
