Product List
Continuing the discussion of the operating modes of the MCU, the next mode is the suspend mode. In suspend mode the CPU does not execute instructions and all internal oscillators are disabled to further reduce power. Some peripherals that can operate autonomously can be used, such as the capacitive sensing module and the ADC. Once again the names vary between vendors and the data sheet should be carefully examined to find the equivalent modes. Finally, the sleep mode is the lowest power mode as it turns off all system and peripheral clocks as well as power to many of the peripherals. This mode can use the integrated RTC to periodically wake the device or an external event can be used to wake the MCU.
