QuickSense C8051F990 Low Power MCU with Capacitive Sensing Slide 33
The activity profile provides an indication of the average power usage of the system. The elements of the wake on slider that contribute to the overall power consumption are the sleep mode, the timer wake event, the CS0 conversion and the CPU processing to determine if the event is active. The majority of the time is consumed by the sleep mode, where the MCU consumes 300 nA and wakes on the RTC event. The CPU then starts the CS0 scan and enters the suspend mode while the conversion is in process. The CS0 module wakes the MCU after four conversions that have been averaged by the hardware and then the CPU performs a check on the converted data to determine the next steps required. This profile repeats across the slider until the event has been determined and the application begins to execute.
