QuickSense C8051F990 Low Power MCU with Capacitive Sensing Slide 23
In earlier versions of the capacitive sensing module the auto-scan feature converted all of the channels between the start channel and the ending channel. This was not necessarily the most efficient method for scanning several channels. In the CS0 module, the channels that are included in the scan are enabled by setting mask bits. Only the channels with a mask bit set to ‘1’ are used to set the CS0 mux bits. Only including the channels that are required to be converted in the auto-scan sequence greatly reduces power since only the necessary channels are being converted (i.e. reduced number of conversions).
