QuickSense C8051F990 Low Power MCU with Capacitive Sensing Slide 28
The simplest implementation of capacitive sensing is the single touch, where simple threshold techniques can be used to generate the feedback for the API to perform the required functions.  For example, only the Inactive to Active and Active to Inactive thresholds are used to determine when the rising-edge event and falling-edge event callback functions are used in the API. A single element of a slider can also be used as single touch which may be useful to start a scan of larger human interface sensors such as sliders.
