After board mounting, the parts were subjected to a pull and shear test. In one case, the parts are pulled away from the board. In the other, a side force is applied on the side of the package. The parts are stressed until they break loose from the board. At that point, the forced that was required to separate the part from the PCB is measured and recorded.
