To support motor control application development using the L9958 and L9959 ST has a hardware platform with software GUI available. The development platform is a motherboard/daughterboard configuration with a straightforward serial interface to a PC for software and user interface configuration control, plus direct connection capability to a motor, and power supply for ease of use. The control software and user interface allow direct access to various control parameters such as output current limiting, output current and voltage slew rate, PWM frequency and duty cycle, motor direction, etc. Indicators on the user interface highlight diagnostic and self protection activities, and SPI communication status and activity. The demo platform gives the user everything needed to configure a motor control and diagnostic operational configuration for any particular user application.
