For many medium to high power motor drive applications, the VNH7013XP is an ideal companion to the L99H01 as an integrated power stage for H-bridge motor control. The VNH7013XP is a multichip module that integrates a dual 36 V, 6 mΩ n-channel MOSFET with embedded temperature sensors on the high side, and two single 36 V, 7 mΩ power MOSFETs on the low side. So the ON resistance of each directional path is 13 mΩ, and when the bridge is OFF, the motor standoff voltage is 72 V. The gate, source, and drain of each MOSFET is accessible and will directly interface to the L99H01. A key feature of the VNH7013XP is the embedded thermal sensor which allows high fidelity temperature sensing very close to the power stage of the motor control. The Power SSO-36 package is thermally efficient, offering only 25°C/W thermal resistance with reasonable PCB copper heat sinking. The package also tightly couples the DC power supply with the motor drivers with very low stray inductance to add to the flyback energy during PWM operation. It can be seen from the footprint diagram that combined with the L99H01 in application it can provide control capability and motor power in a very small space on the application circuit board.
