The training module will now shift its focus to the basics of audio amplifiers. Audio amplifier power ratings are determined by a combination of parameters including: the Output Voltage swing (VO); Load resistance (RL); and Package Thermal Resistance (j-a). Using ohm‘s law for power, PO = VO2 / RL, VO increases as Vcc is increased, which yields more output power. When RL and j-a are lowered, PO to the load also increases.
