The TDA8950 is the first of the TDA895x family part types. It has a power output of 2 x 170W into 4Ω in single ended mode, and >340W into 8Ω mono in BTL mode. Some of the features of the TDA8950 include: a wide supply voltage range of +/-12.5 ~ +/- 42.5V; stereo SE or mono BTL; over voltage protection with a spike filter (less sensitive); thermal fold-back which eliminates the thermal headroom requirements for heat-sink design; lower S/N ratio; EMI that is a 10dB improvement when compared to the TDA8920B; and a high supply voltage ripple rejection (SVRR).
