Public key cryptography has become the de facto standard for secure communications over the Internet and other communications media such as cellular and Wi-Fi. Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) offers both performance and higher security than first generation public key techniques and is gaining acceptance as the foundation for future Internet security. The SSP v1.4.0 supports Elliptic Curve Cryptographic Key Generation. ECC requires smaller key size while providing the same level of security as RSA with large modulus (i.e. a 256-bit elliptic curve public key provides comparable security to a 3072-bit RSA public key). This also helps in faster TLS handshake and is computationally less intensive compared to RSA. RSA Key Generation and installation are key building blocks for secure flash loader and secure boot. The SSP v1.4.0 also supports RSA and AES Key Generation and Installation with Hidden Root Keys.
