The next series of slides will review some critical printed circuit board layout considerations as a guide to designing in ceramic antennas. These include: ground contacts around the ground clearance (GC) area and other ground vias on the PCB; the GC area configuration; the grounding of metal objects in proximity to the antenna; recommended antenna feeding orientation; the importance of making a consistent ground around the GC area; and some considerations regarding multilayered PCBs.
