The W3008/W3008C, W3010, W3011A and W3012 parts are all electrically similar; the variation between the part numbers is representative of the fundamental operational frequency. These ceramic antennas are called ground clearance (GC) designs. For some frequency and design requirements, an on ground (OG) design may be required; the primary differences between GC and OG ceramics being that OG antennas are physically larger to increase radiation efficiency, and copper only needs to be cleared on the top-most PCB copper pour. The next group of slides gives a detailed theory of operation for the ceramic PIFA.
