In addition to all of the other peripherals we’ve discussed, the LPC2470 series also has an on-chip LCD controller. This controller supports displays with resolutions up to 1024x768 and can be connected to super twisted nematic (STN) and thin film transistor (TFT) panels. In STN displays, the controller can drive up to 4 bit per pixel monochrome palettes or 8 bit per pixel color palettes with up to 16 bpp direct true-color. In TFT displays, the controller can drive up to 24 bits per pixel true color with up to 8 bit per pixel color palettes. Hardware cursor control is supported for single panel displays, as well as touch screen support through resistive touch functionality.
