Emulation and debugging options for LPC2000 devices include EmbeddedICE, Embedded Trace Monitor (ETM) and RealMonitor. EmbeddedICE provides on-chip debug support allowing the user to debug via a JTAG directly to the core. The ETM provides real-time trace capability allowing the MCU to output information from software execution to the JTAG trace. Finally, the RealMonitor acts as a background debug monitor to examine the core during a debug. All of these debugging methods are compatible between family devices.
