The FT800 audio output is PWM. The audio is buffered and filtered in order to provide a clean, quality output. A three-stage passive filter is the minimum recommended type. In addition to the audio filtering, a power supply filter is also recommended to remove any unwanted noise from the 18-bit LCD interface. Careful PCB routing and separated grounds are also recommended. The circuit noted above is present on the FT800 evaluation boards and modules.
