Within the SPWF01Sx.1y model, there is a flash file system that can be added to the memory. There is AT command sets within the structure that will allow designers to create files, add to it, delete, and print files from this flash file system that is created. Those files are loaded in a proprietary file format image that is uploaded to the module and those pages can be served up as necessary. That 1 MB of external flash is partitioned in two 512 KB partitions. One is for this Flash file system that gives users 512 KB of capability. The other 512KB is for the firmware over-the-air update scratch area. This allows designers to download the entire 512 KB Flash image for the module itself and store it in there once the module does all of its double checks and makes sure that the file integrity is good. It can then upload and transfer to the STM32 system flash and designers can upload the firmware that way. Additionally, there is 64 KB of RAM. It is possible to create web pages, download those externally, and use those actively. However, the .11 family with the 1 MB of flash gives designers the capability to store HTML pages that customers would use and would be available after a power down without having to go back out to access the web.
