One of the nice features of the module is remote first config. Take a Wi-Fi thermostat as an example. The designer can put one of these modules into a Wi-Fi thermostat or similar application that may not have a display, keyboard or any type of user interface. What they can do is by using this “remote first config.”, they bring up mini-access-point mode and it brings up this “first config”, which will let users input the mini-access-point SSID, the password, the level of security, and then the user reboots the system. It will come back up in station mode with the proper credentials to get on the network.
