This slide shows the ST process discussed in the previous slides, starting with the core, the brain of the meters which is the microcontroller. ST is a leader in the field in ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers. As can be seen, starting on the left with the STM8, the 8-bit microcontroller family with an ST proprietary core, and progressing to full ARM implementation using the Cortex-M3 lower power L1 to the F1 at 72 MHz in the DSP optimized Cortex-M4 core, to the F3, and finally leading to the STM32F4. The applications extend from low end meters to complicated ones, and to concentrators.
