Another feature of the Si1000, dynamic voltage scaling, is based on the architecture and the integration of the DC/DC converter. The efficiency of the DC/DC converter is around 90% at the currents required to transmit and receive data. By dynamically changing the output voltage of the DC/DC converter it is possible to supply higher voltage to the transmitter for greater output power.
