Shown in this slide is an example where the sensor will wake up periodically, listen for a beacon frame and once received it will transmit the data. The profile shows the timing associated with the radio as well as the currents for each part of the profile. The equation is used to calculate the average current for the system and then relate the result to the battery life using a AAA battery.
