By integrating advanced functions into the radio rather than requiring the MCU to run radio housekeeping tasks, the Si10xx reduces MCU loading. Additionally, moving these functions on to the radio enables simpler MCU coding and allows the MCU to remain in sleep mode longer, waking only to service the actual product application.
