Now that it is understood how the system is going to operate with respect to the peripherals and the processing requirements based on each task, the average current can be quantified. Each task has an average current consumption based on the current required to perform the task and the period with which the task is executed. For example, if there is a task that consumes 300µA with a duty cycle of 50% then the average current for that task is 150µA. The total average current consumed can be determined by adding together all of the average currents for each of the individual tasks. Once obtained, this value can be compared to the maximum average current allowable by the system and verify that it does not exceed that value.
