The bandwidth engine 2 (BE2) branch of the family is comprised of two devices (MSR622 and MSR820). The members in this branch are 576Mb in density and have options of either 10Gbps or 12.5Gbps interface speeds. These devices have been in production for more than 6 years and have a stellar record of reliability (with 100’s of thousands shipped with zero field failures). In reviewing the main features of the BE2, it allows a user to perform up to 2.5 billion transaction per second, handle up to 16 simultaneous transactions per second, at a fixed sub 16ns latency which allows one device to support buffering or statistics up to 200 GE. From the previously stated features of the BE2 device(s) it is possible to support types of applications like those mentioned in the chart in the lower right portion of the slide.
