microSD and full size SD cards are very compact footprint NAND media devices and do not allow for the addition of capacitors to prevent issues resulting from unstable power supply. These devices implement passive protection features for risk mitigation. This is known as ATP PowerProtector Lite. Such features are enabled at a firmware level, and typically include the creation of redundant copies of firmware to serve as backups in case of corruption of the master firmware during run time. These backup firmware copies are created and stored in the NAND Flash at locations that are less susceptible to corruption. Multiple logical to physical address mapping tables are also present enabling successful roll-back/restore points.
