A Load Switch IC simplifies the design of a load switch. Most load switches have a primary MOSFET for passing power and some supporting circuitry attached, such as a logic level gate transistor, pull-down resistors, and output capacitor discharge transistors. The load switch IC puts all of this into a single small sized chip to simplify designs, reduce part count, and reduce footprint on the board.
