All Toshiba load switch ICs have some degree of slew rate control built into the switch to prevent large inrush currents from occurring when there are large capacitors in the system. This reduces the stress on the power supply and prevents large current spikes from damaging the system behind or ahead of the load switch. The slew rate control minimizes the voltage spikes seen from inrush current conditions.
