Lastly, this presentation will look at how Bluetooth® compares to other wireless technologies. In the first graph on the slide, the range of each technology is represented. As has been mentioned previously, Bluetooth has a typical range of 10 m, along with ANT and BLE. When considering data rate, or maximum throughput, Bluetooth ranks second to WiFi with a throughput of 2.1 Mpbs. ANT and BLE enable Bluetooth functionality in lower power applications, powered by coin cells and show slightly lower throughput at 1 Mbps. Bluetooth requires a AAA battery power source. In the graphs shown, it can be seen how other wireless technologies compare to Bluetooth from range, throughput and power perspectives.
