This slide illustrates what is involved to set up and communicate between two or more Bluetooth® devices. First, a Bluetooth device, like the cell phone shown on this slide, will cause the phone to inquire about, or find, other Bluetooth enabled devices in range, like the computer shown. Likewise the computer operator will need to set the device as discoverable in order for the cell phone to detect it. This is one of the Bluetooth security features. Then the devices will take further security measures like requesting a passcode, as the devices establish a connection, or pair. Lastly, each device will invoke the Bluetooth software, like the stack and profiles which will help the devices determine if they speak the same language.
