An emerging use case that is currently being evaluated for products in 2012 and beyond is called Wi-Fi Display. This allows users to replicate content on a small screen like a smartphone onto a large screen such as a TV. WiFi Display is similar to Wi-Fi Direct which was discussed earlier. However, Wi-Fi Display takes the standard a step further as it also specifies compression and decompression of content as users actively stream media, browse the web, or play online games.
