Wi-Fi security is an extremely important component in ensuring the privacy and protection of data. Wi-Fi Protected Access or WPA brought a high level of security to both consumer and enterprise users. This was followed by WPA2, an advanced security protocol utilizing AES based encryption. For maximum security, WPA2 should always be employed. WPA2 offers different versions – 802.1X or EAP is widely chosen by enterprise as it adds an additional step of verifying permission levels in a database before granting access.
