Secondary Side Switch-Mode Power Supply Control Slide 8

A typical application schematic is shown on this slide, and in this case the TSM1013 is being used. The inputs for the constant voltage are determined by sensing the output voltage through the voltage divider and the constant current input by sensing the voltage drop across the Rsense shunt resistor. That information is fed back to the primary side. The constant voltage output is logically ORed with the constant current output of each of these two op-amps and the result is driven back through the optocoupler. The calculations necessary for both the current sense and the voltage sense are shown on this slide, the calculation is covered in application note AN1623. When a further explanation is required by the design engineer, always reference the manufacturer’s application notes, they will describe exactly how to apply the devices.
