This slide and the following slides discuss the SRK2000A synchronous rectification controller for LLC Resonant topology converters. The SRK2000A can be used with ST controllers for the LLC Resonant topology. They are the L6599, L6599A, the L6699 and STLUX. The SRK2000A can also be used with other manufacturers analog controllers or digital LLC Resonant controllers as well. Looking at this slide, the MOSFETs are being used as the synchronous rectifiers. The current flow through the rectifier is going to be the direction in which the body diode is pointing with current flowing through the anode (+) to cathode (-). The device synchronizes the event of turning on that MOSFET once the body diode starts forward conduction, never allowing current to flow through the body diode for very long. Once the MOSFET is turned on, current will prefer to flow through the channel resistance, which offers the least resistant path to current flow when compared to the actual PN junction of the body diode. This happens for each winding depending on which one needs to conduct for that half cycle. Once that half cycle is completed, the MOSFET turns off and the body diode goes back to reverse biased condition and begins blocking again.
