The topology on the left is demonstrating a DC/DC stage: there is full- or half bridge or TTF (the two transistor forward). The PFC stage on the input is optional. The chart on the right shows a thermal test performed in a half bridge welding machine. The vertical axis demonstrates the T-case to ambient (K) to highlight that the component of temperature is coming from the device. The horizontal axis illustrates the test time in seconds. Due to the reduced losses in the H5 device, here marked in green, compared to the HS3 marked in red, the H5 has a lower temperature, which leads to a longer lifetime.
