This presents the official list of markets and applications from the ZigBee® Alliance. NXP works with customers in each of the listed markets and applications. Due to the concerns over global warming and the efficient use of power, HVAC (Heating/Ventilation/Air Conditioning) applications are especially well-suited for 802.15.4 and ZigBee solutions. In many of these common ZigBee applications, a wireless network is used to monitor and control the temperature and energy usage of all the HVAC units in residential, industrial or commercial settings. HVAC control can also be extended to measure air flow and ventilation as well as individual room monitoring and control. Additionally, remote status monitoring, compressor vibration monitoring, and maintenance alerts can be utilized.
