Product List
When looking at a side-by-side comparison of various low-power wireless networking technologies, each technology is targeted towards a specific application space. Batteries on ZigBee® devices can last for years, unlike hours on WiFi® and days on Bluetooth®. ZigBee is simple to deploy when compared to WiFi™, and ZigBee is also designed to scale with very large networks with thousands of nodes, as opposed to a handful of nodes on WiFi and Bluetooth. The ZigBee® range was designed to be about 70 meters but 300 meter ranges and beyond are not uncommon, depending on the antennas and the environment. The 802.15.4 network is extendable, meaning that nodes can be added or removed, and the network tracks those changes and continues to function. Additionally, 802.15.4 is designed for low data rates and offers AES128 encryption to maintain network security.
