While ANT is very robust and not normally bothered by other RF signals at times a stationary signal from an 802.11 source of sufficient signal strength and bandwidth may cause an unacceptable packet loss. An ANT channel established using the frequency agility option will sense the loss in quality and move to another pre-configured frequency. The default frequencies are chosen to best avoid WiFi center channels. Acknowledged messages are used to monitor master node service degradation and missed packets on the slave. Frequency agility differs from frequency hopping in that agility only moves when there is low service available. This reduces channel management overhead dramatically.
