By using the RX window during transmit ANT has created a listen before speak scheme so ANT nodes can coexist with a large number of other ANT nodes, or avoid RF noise if necessary. The embedded ANT protocol automatically manages the receive window and maneuvers the open channels away from each other. Up to three hundred nodes can coexists in a 1Hz message rate network. The RX window at transmit time is also used for back channel communication which allows the slave to respond to the master if it has something to say without establishing a new channel.
