Channel ID variables (marked with an * on this slide) can be re-configured at each message period, allowing flexible network performance and ad hoc reaction capability. Many ANT channel options open an RX window as part of the transmission phase providing ANT with an indication if there is any RF noise at that frequency and time slot that may prevent a good reception of the message. ANT will then delay the transmission ever so slightly to bypass the noise. Testing the new version of ANT has proven that it can manage close to three hundred other ANT nodes occupying the same frequency and network within range of each other without collision damage. That performance was found to be necessary in fitness class applications with many ANT nodes in close proximity to each other.
