The core is based on ARM Cortex-M7 with 16KB of instruction cache and 16KB of data cache, as well as extensive debug and trace capabilities. Its Memory Protection Unit has up to 16 protected memory regions for safety/critical applications. Additionally, the core can achieve 300MHz target CPU max frequency and 150MHz system clock. The memory system of SAM S70/E70 has up to 2MB embedded Flash, extendable with QSPI Flash, and the data can be scrambled on the fly, read from and written to external Flash, adding more data security. It also has up to 384KB of embedded multi-port SRAM extendable with SDRAM, supporting multiple high bandwidth communications with large on-chip buffer size. In addition, up to 256KB of SRAM is configurable as Tightly Coupled Memory of system memory with zero wait state CPU-to-System SRAM access.
