Product List
Microchip's Cortex-M7 product family consists of four series which are based on the same features set, except for SAM S70 is the general purpose series; SAM E70 is the connectivity series integrated with Dual CAN and Ethernet MAC. SAM V70 and V71 are both automotive series qualified for grade 2, supporting -40°C to 105°C, while V71 also features Ethernet AVB (Audio Video Bridge) and Media LB peripheral. The Cortex-M7 runs at 300MHz, achieving 1500 CoreMarks. It has DSP functionality and a double precision Floating Point Unit. On the memory side, there is a flexible SRAM which can be configured as TCM up to 256 KB, allowing execution of deterministic code or fast processing data. Code executed from TCM is executed at full speed (300MHz). The SRAM is multi port which is reducing the latency over the bus matrix. When there is a lot of burst, the latency can be reduced by 16 thanks to the four ports. To accelerate the execution of the code from on-chip Flash or non-volatile memory connected to QuadSPI or over the External Bus Interface, Microchip has integrated a huge L1 cache of 16KB for the instruction and 16kB for the data, both with ECC. The 384kB of SRAM can be extended through the SDRAM interface. The features include plenty of serial communications such as SPI, SDIO or USART. It has one High-speed USB Host and Device, with integrated PHY which obviously saves some cost and PCB space. There is one CMOS Camera interface for image acquisition. All the series offer two Advanced Analog Frontend (AFE) with Dual Sample and hold capability, and up to 16-bit resolution with hardware oversampling. Microchip also has programmable gain for small signal input. All series offer real-time event management through direct connection between PWM, Timer and ADC for motor control application. The series is available in BGA and QFP from 64 to 144 pins. Small 64-pin pin count option offers an entry level form factor high performance MCU. All series support the extended Industrial temperature range from -40°C to 105°C.
