Overall, one thing that will be seen is that if the user’s choice is the over-sampled approach, there can actually be a reduction in hardware and filter requirements resulting in a lower system cost, and the actual electrode offset information can be retained. Many times, in the discrete solution with a SAR converter, this cannot be done because it is necessary to filter out the electrode offset information with a high pass filter.
