Medical ECG Slide 22

The block diagrams shown on this slide are laid out for both signal paths, high resolution and low resolution. Overall, one thing that will be seen is that if the user’s choice is the over-sampled approach, there can actually be a reduction in hardware and filter requirements resulting in a lower system cost, and the actual electrode offset information can be retained. Many times, in the discrete solution with a SAR converter, this cannot be done because it is necessary to filter out the electrode offset information with a high pass filter.
