Clock trees can be complex with many timing components, or very simple with a single reference and a few copies. While there are many timing component types for different applications, the most common timing components are: Crystals, Crystal Oscillators (XOs), Voltage controlled oscillators (VCXOs), Clock Generators, Clock Buffers, and Jitter Attenuators or Jitter Cleaners.
