This concludes this part-1 course on noise reduction techniques for microcontroller based embedded control systems. In this course, you got some insight into the problems noise can cause and learned the difference between electromagnetic interference and electromagnetic susceptibility (EMI and EMS, respectively). Then you learned ways to reduce the noise generated by an embedded system and saw some of the techniques semiconductor manufactures can use to limit the amount of noise that a microcontroller produces. Finally, you obtained some basic insights about noise problems as they relate to the system development process. In part 2 of this course, you will find out about ways devices and systems can be protected from noise generated by external sources.
