The best way to get started is to get one of the development platforms from Octavo Systems. The first one is the OSD32MP1-BRK flexible prototyping platform. It is a small, low-cost platform the size of a business card. This board shows how easy it is to design with OSD32MP1 and what little hardware is needed to go from the SiP to a board booting Linux and working peripherals. It is a 4-layer board, with all of the components on a single side, yet it can provide access to almost all the pins of the MP1. The design is open source, providing all of the schematics and layout files.
