The MADL-011012 integrates multiple discrete devices into a hermetically sealed package. The package itself utilizes aluminum nitride as the carrier for the components. Due to thermal properties of aluminum nitride, the package itself is thermally conductive and electrically isolating. This allows for higher power handling and ease of manufacturing onto standard printed circuit boards without the need for special epoxies and intricate assembly. This low loss limiter operates in UHF bands at maximum input power of +55 dBm CW. It offers flat leakage power of +23 dBm which is ideal protection for next components in the chain. Target applications include, but are not limited to, ground based, airborne, and shipboard radar for civilian and military markets. These radars operate for early warning and target acquisition systems like the surveillance radar for the Medium Extended Air Defense System (MEADS).
