Product List
IGBTs are protected against overvoltages during the switching stage by snubber capacitors that reduce these overvoltages and supply the current needed for the switching without increasing the voltage. These capacitors require a high pulse handling capability and therefore a high ripple current capability. Also, as the ESR and ESL decrease, the protection of the IGBT increases. Over-voltage capability and electrical, thermal and mechanical stability are always required for these types of systems.
