EPCOS has released a new version of the B3292 X2 series for across the line applications, called E/F (Efficient Filtering) with a range of capacitance up to 45µF and 305 VAC. The possibility of using a single capacitor with, for example 40µF, instead of 6 parallel capacitors summing 40µF, reduces the design complexity and the risk of unbalanced high frequency currents. Additional advantages include an increment of density of capacitance per volume, reduction of parasitic inductance, higher resonant frequencies, reduction of welding points, and high voltage testing.
