PSoC 4 BLE enables low power wireless systems and it does so by offering five flexible power modes: the active mode, sleep mode, deep sleep mode, hibernate mode, and a stop mode. The details are listed in the table shown on this slide. In the hibernate and stop modes the PSoC consumes the least amount of current; 60 nA in the stop mode, 150 nA in the hibernate mode. It retains the SRAM data in the hibernate mode, and retains complete system status in the deep sleep mode. PSoC Creator also provides easy to use APIs to switch between these low power modes, plus a one-second connection interval, which is a Bluetooth Low Energy specification, PSoC systems consume an average of 18.9 mA of current. This is because the chip is active for very short periods of time and can go to sleep or deep sleep for the remaining duration.
